Introducing VIP’s Research Advisory Committee

Helping to gather the information needed to improve newcomers’ integration

VIP’s Research Advisory Committee provides strategic advice to implement research initiatives. Currently, this advisory committee has 12 members representing community services, education, academia and government sectors.

All advisory committee members were invited to participate in VIP based on their expertise, interest and commitment to the topics being addressed. The Advisory Committee also champions VIP in raising awareness of the challenges facing Vancouver’s newcomers.

The Research Advisory Committee’s convenor assists the VIP Project Secretariat in preparing agendas, facilitating group discussions, attending MWGI meetings and takes a leadership role in all of the committee’s activities. Ultimately, the work of the committee has made significant contributions to the development of the New Start Strategy.
