The Vancouver Immigration Partnership (VIP) is about bringing key people and organizations together to address issues. More than 100 people from over 65 organizations worked towards the creation and adoption of the New Start Strategy. Active on advisory committees, strategy groups and the Mayor’s Working Group on Immigration, these individuals represent business, academic, social service, legal and political sectors.
From immigrant service agencies such as MOSAIC, SUCCESS and Immigrant Services Society of B.C., to employer groups such as the Overwaitea Food Group and Telus, from Business Improvement Associations to universities and college, from the Vancouver School Board to the Vancouver Public Library, VIP’s project partners all bring unique perspectives in addressing the needs of immigrants. Neighbourhood house directors, university professors, front-line workers, First Nations leaders, business people and community organizers are all working together to help develop the programs and strategies that will fulfill VIP's goals. And as the project moves forward in implementation, undoubtedly many more organizations will come forward to make their contribution to this exciting initiative that will improve the quality of life for Vancouver’s immigrants.
